SongFight artists Nivious and Glenn Case conceived of the Purple Reign project, wherein SongFighters created songs with the same titles as Prince songs. This was largely in response to the artists unrelenting views on who could and could not create covers of his songs. Songs were handled in album blocks, from month to month, from Princes first album For You onwards.

The project ran over three or four months, and then abruptly stopped.

This is probably my favourite collection of Sausage Boy songs. There is a maniacal abandon about it that is hard to replicate now. I think around this time was when I was fired from my job, so that might explain a bit. Also, a lot of these songs are inexplicably personal, though largely dressed up in nonsense.
